Don’t Let Yourself Fall Victim To Quickly Fading Tans

Do you feel like your sunless tan fades faster than it should? Your skin care habits may be to blame. As summer fades away, your tan doesn’t have to. One of the biggest factors in fading tans is dry skin. Your body is constantly making new skin cells and getting rid of the old ones. Unfortunately, that often means taking your tan with it. So, how can you keep your skin looking and feeling beautiful for longer? Try these tips to keep your skin tan all year long.

  • Use moisturizer. It’s always a good idea to apply moisturizer regularly, but especially for keeping your tan, it’s crucial. This will keep your tan cells healthy and happy, and they won’t have to regenerate as quickly. Make sure you stay away from oil-based moisturizers– oils can break down your tan and make your skin blotchy or fade more quickly.
  • Avoid exfoliators. Exfoliating products make the fading process even faster by clearing away skin cells and can contribute to drying out your skin. Stick with a moisturizing skin care routine and avoid these products that may undo those benefits.
  • Keep hydrated. The more hydrated you are, the better all of your cells are, including your skin. Just like using a moisturizer, it will keep your skin healthier for longer. Drinking more water will keep you looking amazing, inside and out.

To stay tan, stay moisturized. The healthier your skin is, the longer your skin will stay beautiful and even between tanning. Don’t let yourself fall victim to quickly fading tans this winter! Contact us when it’s time for a touch-up to keep your tan looking amazing.
