What You Can And Can’t Wear On Your Skin During A Spray Tan Appointment
Before your spray tan appointment, it’s important to know what you can and can’t wear on your skin. The following substances can’t be worn at any time:
- Suntan lotion
- Makeup
- Moisturizing oils
- Skin lotions
Can you apply any of these substances earlier in the day? Not at all. If you do accidentally wear makeup or have oil on your skin, we have wipes in our salon that you can use to wipe it off. T his way, you don’t waste your appointment time.
Why Should I Avoid Makeup and Lotion when Spray Tanning?
Spray tans work by using oils to naturally and temporarily darken your skin. Wearing any of the above substances will interfere with the effectiveness of the spray. In fact, some substances, such as suntan lotion, will completely negate the tan.
Is it dangerous to wear any of these substances? No, but your tan will be nowhere near as nice as you’d hoped.
